DECLARE @newname varchar(50)
SELECT ID
FROM NAMES
WHERE ID = 5;
If @newname IS NOT NULL
SET name=@newname
END IF;
UPDATE NAMES

I'm getting this error - can anyone help please !!!

Server: Msg 170, Level 15, State 1, Line 6
Line 6: Incorrect syntax near '='
