Hi all... I am brand new to Adwords so go easy on me!!

Just a little advice please??

I've been registered and have had my advert campaign for two weeks now.

Basically, I've had 10,000 impressions with only 50 or so clicks. I'm guessing that my CPC is too low, so I am appearing far, far down the results pages.

So, last week, I increased my maximum CPC to 45p, but I am still never charged more than 0.15p for a cl*c*!! I am willing to pay more than 0.15p per cl*c*, but don't know how to achieve this... and appear higher.

I naturally assumed:
Increase CPC cost = higher results
Increase maximum monthly spend = more ad appearances

I guess I have a lot to learn!

Oh, I'm in the Jewellery and Crafts business to competition is high!!

Many thanks for your time, any advice would be well received!

Have you tried the traffic estimator and keyword tools?

Keyword tool can be used to find the approx cost for a particular range of position of ad. Its a trial and error method, but you can gaina lot from that.

Have few rounds of analysis on traffic estimator tool with your budget. By varying cpc, you can see corresponding statistics regarding clicks and cpc.

Using these, arrive at a CPC and budget combination.
