Alright guys, this topic is about METAL.

Anyone who knows anything about METAL knows that it is the most ridiculous genre ever and the fact that 99% of all Metal bands are actually pretty horrible. I started my musical tastes listening to thrash metal like Metallica, Megadeth, Testament (I skipped Slayer) I then moved to the heavier more generic melodic death (At The Gates, Children of Bodom, In Flames or whatever) but I lost interest in these bands and stuff. Yeah that's just a little back story to my dilemma (actual dilemma coming up now)

Many people claim metal to be a wonderful and diverse genre full of musical genius's and fantastic song writers. I haven't listened to metal serious for a good amount of time now but for some reason I feel like getting back into it. Obviously it's harder this time for me to get back into it as I'm not going to be impressed by CHUGGA or SHREDDING or anything like we all are the first time we listen to metal. So what I'm asking for is for some of you guys to share some GOOD metal bands that'll help me get back into the genre, I'm pretty sure what answers I can expect but re-assurance on these typical answers plus some stuff I've never heard of will all be good.

By good metal I mean interesting to listen to since my main gripe with metal is it can be SO BORING.
