love issue: i need advices from indian people
hello everyone,

i have an issue: i fell in love with a boy who lives in england for some years but is originally from india. i went to england for one year (that's where i met him) but now i'm in france as i live here. so we were together even after i came back to france as we decided to go on in spite of the distance but few days back he broke up with me: the problem for him is that he is sure his mom and family won't accept me because i'm muslim and he is hindou that's why he said we should stop. i know that in india there are muslim people who are bad to hindou people but it's not me. can anyone help me i thought i might ask in an indian forum as you know more about indian culture and expectations. what can i do to reassure him and to make his family accept me?

hello!

What do you mean by having some common ground?
He says that they won't accept me because of my religion and regarding my family i didn't talk to them about him as they wouldn't agree me marrying a guy from any other religion so I wanted to wait and be sure of our relationship to talk to them about him and i guess i was right as he left me.
But tell me, would your family agree yo to marry a muslim girl?
thank you so much, you do help me a lot Smile

In India, society is against such marriages for sure and that could be the reason he left you not to face his people, one way his fear of facing his people withdrew him from moving on with you.

It doesn't matter much if the guy and girl are in good terms.

I don't say Hindus don't get married to Muslims in India, there are few who do it, but most of the time against their own family's and society's wishes.

Ok, thank you for the explaination. I guess i just have to move on. Well the arabic society and arabic families are much the same regarding relationships. I hope one day, all that will change...
Thanks to you both for helping me without judging : that's just how sweet Indian people are Smile
