Eye problems with monitors
Just thought I would share this with you. I have been using monitors for about 15 years now and have had headaches and eye problems for around the same amount of time. I've been to the doctors and the optomitrist and have ended up wearing glasses. About 6 months ago I got a laptop instead of a usual desktop machine for work. The headaches improved so I also got a TFT for home, since then no headaches at all!
The moral of this story, is if you are suffering get yourself a TFT or a laptop, as (for me at least) it was the CRT's which were causing the damage. |

It is good that you are not facing problems and we pray that they should not come. You are a lucky man.enjoy.. |

RE: Eye problems with monitors
Hi all, I have recently owned a laptop for home. It is good except with one thing....the keys are at the same level as that of the display screen. I mean, with desktop computer I can place the monitor at a higher level so that I can look straight into the screen without bending my neck; while the keyboard can be placed at a lower level as not to strain the shoulders.(N.B.: i have cervical problem). So, I think desktop computers are good for your upper body posture.
Any suggestions to work on a laptop while keeping a good posture? |

RE: Eye problems with monitors
Good solid displays with the highest possible refresh rate is desired. LCD monitors although seem brighter which cause less strain on the eyes but as joeyd has said you still need to take regular breaks the other option is for you to keep your crt monitor and get a polarization screen for it, this will cut down on the uv's and the glare. 75Hz and up but in an office type setting with flouresent lighting, going above 60hz can cause flickering.
